Six Years of Greatness

So, Mia’s birthday was a few weeks ago and I had planned to write a big, sentimental post about her and what a great kid she is and how much I love her. (Which she is and I do.) At first I was going to post it on her birthday but then I decided to wait until after the birthday party, which was a few days later, so I could include pictures of that. Then I couldn’t get the pictures to load so I had to fix that…then I had a bunch of work…then I got distracted blogging about other things…then we bought a giant bag of Cheetos so that kept me busy for a while. So suddenly it’s been two weeks and I still haven’t posted about Mia’s birthday. I tried to go back and write about it this morning, but it’s been so long that a big sentimental something-or-other has kind of lost its thunder.

But anyway…Happy Birthday my sweet Mia! I love you with all my heart and I’m so glad you’re six and you’re my girl. I love your smile and your kisses and cuddles. I love how you like to read to me and leave me little notes and tape your artwork all over the house.

In honor of the birthday girl, here’s a little more about her:

Animals: Loves - horses (Oh, the depth of the horse love! People, if you only knew.); Likes - puppies, cats and birds; Hates - bugs and dogs that bark excessively, which is actually every dog in our neighborhood.

Food: Loves - strawberries and toast; Likes - cold cereal, granola bars, and popcorn; Hates - pretty much everything else. She’s the kid in our family who won’t eat.

Movies/TV: Loves - Spirit, the Barbie movies, Dora the Explorer; Likes - Bratz, Arthur; Hates - any grown-up shows (duh!)

Hobbies: Loves - swimming, coloring, reading, playing on the computer, riding her bike, Barbies; Likes - dress-up, playing the piano, baby dolls; Hates - being bossed around when playing, getting kicked off the computer.

As you can see, she’s a pretty normal kid and we’re crazy about her.

My girls get a big friend birthday party every other year and this year Mia wanted a cowgirl theme. We dressed everyone up and took each kid’s picture, kinda like the prom.

* Updated to add - I have NO idea what’s going on with the site right now. Stuff is moving around and my menu bar is all weird and the formatting is going crazy and basically…Ahhhh! I’m working on it but it’s all very confusing and nasty and I may have to call in an expert soon because seriously…Ahhhhhh!

Hey! But you made the subscription thing go away, so progress is clearly being made. I like the way your template is simple but not plain.

Happy birthday to Sydney! My youngest will be five in August and my friend’s daughter is in labor right this very minute! Ah, kids.
