Home again - and not too happy about it.
We ran out of money so we had to come home. Disneyland sure knows how to suck up every last cent. I think we spent $50 on churros alone, which the girls proclaimed to be their favorite.treat.ever! They didn’t go for the $80 princess dresses though (*whew*) and instead came home with mouse ears (How can you go to Disneyland and not buy mouse ears?) and some princess-shaped trinket boxes, which are a little strange when you think about it. I’m making it sound like all we did was run around waving our credit card and screaming for gift wrap. We didn’t. We also ran around waving the girls’ autograph albums and screaming for the princesses to stop, please stop — stop and take a picture for the love of Pete! No, not really, but they are suprisingly hard to catch. The girls were SO excited when we told them where we were going. There was much jumping and screaming and running in circles. They’ve been begging for a trip to Disneyland for a long time, only Amy was adamant that we fly, not drive. She was too excited to care until several hours into the drive, then she started to get tired and began the “Are we there yet?” routine. When I reminded her that it was a very long drive clear to Disneyland she heaved a gusty sigh and proclaimed, “That’s why I suggested the plane.” She made it though. All in all, it was a success. The weather was beautiful, the crowds weren’t too bad, and the churros actually were quite good. The girls are already asking when we can go back and I’m still trying to get all the suitcases unpacked. Oh, and the newly revamped Pirates of the Caribbean ride that includes Johnny Depp as Captain Jack? Fabulous, the likeness is very good. I was thinking I should have packed some sexy underwear to throw at him, like any good crazed fan. But then I figured Disneyland would probably frown on that. Unless, of course, they were the ones who sold you the underwear. I sense a marketing opportunity!
