Case in Point

My last post? About the dogs and how I’m not exactly feeling the love?

This morning at 5:00 our neighbor’s dogs started a barking fit. It was a constant, steady stream of high pitched, frantic barking. Dan went over and walked around their fence to see if he could find something wrong that may have set them off. Nothing. He rang the bell and the dogs ran in from the backyard to bark at the front door. Clearly the neighbors either weren’t home or something was very wrong.

We called their home number and got a machine so we called one of their cell phones. They were both at work and had forgotten to lock the doggie door when they left. So the dogs who are usually in the house at that time of day suddenly had carte blanche and they were taking full advantage.

The barking continued until 6:30, when the neighbor was able to call someone with a key to their house to go lock the pet door. By that time we were all fully awake and not able to get back to sleep.

No, I do not want a dog.
