Sweet summer
Amy and I have been talking about setting goals and doing something this summer more than simply watching TV and playing computer games the whole time, which is the preferred default entertainment when she’s bored. I’ve been trying to encourage something more productive, like learning a new skill. I’ve suggested cross-stitching, scrap-booking, beading, and gardening, but she hasn’t been too motivated to adopt any of them. Today though she decided on something. She wants to learn to make cookies and her goal is to “have cookies in the house at all times.” I am famously weak-willed when it comes to sweets. I’m sure you can see the problem with this plan. Baby weight? Forget about it. Looks like I’m going to be fighting the cookie weight as well. And, since Dan’s sweet tooth is as big as mine, Amy is going to be making cookies every day if she wants to meet her goal. Go, Amy, go.
