Just a bit behind

Heh - I originally typed that Just a big behind. Um, yeah, that too.

You’ll be so proud of me! I recently discovered …

wait for it …

YouTube!

I know, I know, it’s been around for how long? But I have ignored its existence, naively assuming it was full of amateur videos and people mugging for their web cams. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it’s got actual real stuff too like music videos, TV show snippets, ballet and other dance routines, and Broadway performances. Ballet and Broadway!! I almost wet myself in excitement. Guess what I do all day every day now? Maybe the novelty will wear off soon? Maybe not.

More rumblings…

Seriously, China, what’s the deal? First the toy recalls (my daughters have one of those Polly Pockets) and now they’ve found poison on children’s clothes? I never thought about fabric being toxic. The link is an article from New Zealand and I couldn’t find anything on it from a U.S. source, so maybe those batches weren’t shipped here. Still though, any poison = bad poison.

Here’s where you might be expecting me to go off on a rant about trade deficits and whichever administration I blame, but frankly, I don’t have the energy.

School days

I hate dropping the girls off at school. I don’t have a carpool this year because with Adam’s car seat I don’t have room for anyone other than my own kids. So I’m dropping off and picking up every day, which is a major pain. But beyond the hassle of having to wake up the boy for crating every morning, I really just hate leaving my girls at school.

I hate watching them get swallowed into the crowd of jostling, screaming, smelly youngsters. I hate driving away knowing I’m leaving them on their own to deal with whatever happens that day. I hate wondering all day if they’re okay. Mia came home yesterday with bloody knees and elbows, she’d tripped and fallen going in to class and I hate knowing that I was literally driving away right as it was happening.

I know - all baby birds have to leave the nest someday and I don’t want them living in my basement when they’re 40. They both really enjoy school and are doing well. But still, it hurts to see them hurt in those rare times when things don’t go their way.

Not so appealing…

Is anyone else grossed out by the new Subway commercial that shows someone spilling a soft drink all over other diners because they’re so excited over a promo? Ick. If I were Subway I would want to steer clear of “wet sticky mess” as word associations for my restaurants. But whatever.

I watch WAY too much u-tube, it just sucks you in!But now that my four have left for school I fill my time with mind numbing things on the internet all day.:O( Gotta get me a life! I think I may be over reacting, but the subway spot has a bit of disrespect and violence about it, or I may be just pms’ing.

My YouTube addict? KJ. He watches jet plane movies and 80’s Transformers cartoons on it. He loves it.

What you wrote about the girls and dropping them off? I can only imagine. Thank God I still get to walk him to his classroom this year. I’m sure the dropoff will bother me, too.
