Pygmy Puff Stuff
The girls are off-track this week so that means another project to keep us all sane. Amy and I are reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and when we reached the chapter with Ginny’s new pet, Amy’s eyes lit up and I knew what we were doing the rest of the day. Our version of Harry Potter Pygmy Puffs… We bought fluffy fabric and I kind of made up the pattern as we went along. I had hoped the girls could do much of the sewing but the pygmies turned out to be a little too complicated with too many small pieces for them to manage. So, we’ll probably need another, more kid-friendly project when they’re bored next week. They went together fairly quickly though the fabric proved to be pretty messy and fibers were everywhere. Mia’s Pinkie had an adventure right off the bat. The girls were playing with them on the trampoline and Mia threw hers and where it sailed right over the fence and into the neighbor’s yard - neighbors who have two dogs (of course they do). They weren’t home so we snuck in and rescued the pygmy from the clutches of the evil white terrier just in time. Happiness is a big ball of beady-eyed fluff on your shoulder.
Amy’s is the blue one and Mia’s is the pink. They have named them Bluie and Pinkie respectively. (What age does the naming by main characteristic thing wear off?)

Good thing you got Sydney’s pygmy back. I was picturing a Sid situation from Toy Story!

My mom made me a yellow Pygmy Puff back in July so I could take it with me to the movie and book parties. She made up the pattern as well and I have no idea how she did it. I’m not sure I have any pictures of mine yet. I’ll have to go fix that and take care of it if I don’t. I don’t think I’ve named mine yet though. Right now he’s sitting on my Harry Potter book shelf (yes, I have a whole shelf dedicated to my multiple copies of Harry Potter in various languages, I’m a bit of a nut).

So cute! I am terribly impressed. I still can’t ‘think’ in 3D very well in terms of sewing… it will come!
