Christmas project - belated
Okay, so I made this a few years ago but am shamelessly trying to get mileage out of it for a blog post because it’s unlikely I’ll do much Christmas sewing this year. Behold, my fireplace mantle swag, runner, drapey-thing. A better picture of the fabric… And then just because it’s fireplace day, here’s the black swag thingy I made that we use for Halloween. It sort of flutters in the breeze from the fireplace and is appropriately spooky.
I used an embroidered gold fabric that apparently does not photograph well. I didn’t have a pattern, I just kind of sketched out what I wanted on tissue paper and went for it. It’s lined with a plain gold fabric to give it more stability and originally I was going to put weights in the back so it’d stay on the mantle but then I realized the stocking holders would do that job and I could save myself the trouble.

How fantastic that is! I can’t wait to make something like that. :o)
(I love your fabric, btw!)
